New Delhi : Supreme Court lawyers on Tuesday held a protest march in the national capital against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR). The lawyers marched from the Supreme Court till Jantar Mantar.

Large number of advocates taking play cards & banners in their hand raised slogans against the CAA and claimed the law unconditional. The protest is joined by senior advocates like Salman Khurshid and Ragini Nayak.

Interacting with Ten News Ragini Nayak said “It’s a spontaneous protest that is raising all over the country against the attack that is happening over the peace & sanity of the nation. If the government is not is sleep mode then what’s the need to bring the “gazet notification” at such a time when the whole country is witnessing a blaze against the CAA”

Another lawyer alleged that “the Act discriminates between Muslim migrants and those of six specified faiths from the neighbouring Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, between migrants from these three countries and those from others, between those who migrated because of religious persecution and others, and between illegal migrants who entered India before 31 December 2014, and those who entered later.”
