Suspense over Karnataka CM to end today, Congress likely to make decision

New Delhi, 16th May 2023: The power tussle for the Chief Minister position in Karnataka between Karnataka state Congress president DK Shivakumar and former CM Siddaramaiah is touted to end today.

The leaders were called over to the party office in Delhi, to hold discussions regarding the cabinet mnistry and who is to assume the position in the southern state. Siddaramaiah arrived in Delhi in the afternoon, but Shivakumar cancelled at the last minute due to a stomach infection. DK Shivakumar, on the other hand, left for Delhi early Tuesday morning.

In the just concluded Karnataka Assembly elections 2023, the Congress registered a landslide victory over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Congress received 135 seats, while the BJP received 66 in the only southern state held by the saffron party.
