New Delhi, Dec 25, 2022: On Saturday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the state board students could apply for JEE Main without Class X exam marks for the main exam scheduled to be held in January 2023.
“It has been decided that during the filling of online application for JEE Main exam session 1, when the candidate selects passing year as 2021 with school board as Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination, the result mode field will be disabled and the associated fields for marks/CGPA will be invisible for Tamil Nadu State Board candidates who have passed their Class X in 2021,” Sadhana Parashar, senior director (exams), NTA, shared via a release.
“If any candidate faces difficulty in applying for JEE (Main) – 2023 session I (January 2023), he or she may contact 011-40759000/011-69227700 or email at jeemain@nta.ac.in,” the release further added.
The NTA has scheduled the first session of the JEE Main exam from January 24 to 31 and the online applications had been launched on December 15. In the online application for JEE-Main, however, it had been made mandatory for filling total marks for Class X, obtained marks and percentage of marks. Parents and students from Tamil Nadu and education department officials had contested before the NTA that no marks had been given in the Class X marksheet.
