Teachers March from Mandi House to MHRD

New Delhi, 30, May, 2016 : The Teachers March from Mandi House to MHRD today manifested itself in two ways (i) a huge turn out of teachers (2) the complete resolve of teachers to put up a united fight against the UGC Gazette Notification.  INTEC under the overall guidance of DPCC President Shri Ajay Maken, has been consistently opposing the cut in allocation of funds for higher education in the Union budget i.e. from 9315 crores to 4286 crores.

• INTEC looks at the gazette notification of UGC regulations (3^rd amendment) 2016 and the consequent cut to the tune of 5000 teaching post in Delhi University alone, as the manifestation of 55%  cut in Union budget for higher education.

• Nearly 50% of affected teachers comprise SC,ST,OBC and PWD which brings the hdden agenda of the Central Govt. to fore, aimed primarily at ending reservation.
• The implementation of API under the said notification for promotions is highly irrational and anti academic and the quantification of knowledge linked to hours for promotion of teachers is unacceptable to INTEC.

 INTEC demands

1) immediate rollback of cut in budgetary allocation for higher education.

2) withdrawal of the UGC regulation ( 3rd amendment) 2016 including API in any form.

• To press for its demands INTEC will stage a Dharna at Jantar Mantar tomorrow 31^st May, 2016. INTEC will further intensify it’s agitation for the withdrawal of this mischievous and negative notification if the demands are not met.
