New Delhi (India), April 7, 2023: Telangana BJP chief and Member of Parliament Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was granted bail in a Class 10 (SSC) question paper leak case on Thursday, walked out of the Karimnagar district jail on Friday. He was seen offering prayers at a local temple soon after his release.

The court allowed him to bail out on a surety of Rs 20,000 from a magistrate’s court in Warangal on the condition that he doesn’t leave the country, cooperates with the investigation, and doesn’t threaten the witnesses.

Kumar, who is the Lok Sabha MP from the Karimnagar constituency, was arrested after he was named as the prime accused in the case. He allegedly conspired with others to create rumors and provoke a breach of peace during the ongoing SSC public examination to defame the government.

After his release, Kumar demanded that the state government have a sitting judge inquire into the SSC paper leak case and that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son and Minister KT Rama Rao be expelled from the cabinet. He also demanded that the state government announce an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh to each student who suffered due to the leak of the question paper.

Several top BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national chief JP Nadda, contacted Kumar after he was released from jail. He held a rally in Karimnagar and paid floral tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar’s statue.

Kumar alleged that the state government was trying to divert attention from the issue of the Telangana State Public Service Commission paper leak case and called for justice for the 30 lakh candidates who suffered due to the paper leak.

He accused the police commissioner of not knowing the difference between a paper leak and malpractice and asked in what way he was related to the case when someone forwarded the leaked question paper to his mobile phone.
