Jammu & Kashmir, Dec 26, 2022: Jammu & Kashmir security forces on Monday arrested a terrorist associate named Tayyab Khan, a resident of Salwa who was asked to stop by the security forces while he was coming from a forest area.
When the police asked him to stop he tried to run away, and was arrested by the police after a chase.
The officer added that the security personnel was able to stop the OGW when he attempted to flee and recovered a weapon and eight rounds of ammunition from his search.
The police say that A pistol and some ammunition were seized from Tayyab’s possession
At the police station in Mendhar, a case was registered against him under the Arms Act, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, two others were detained in Srinagar for impersonating terrorists in order to demand money
Officials said on Sunday that two people used to impersonate militants to demand money from businesspeople in Srinagar and were detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The two suspects were identified as Mohd Younis Zargar of Khushipora and Mohd Rafiq Bhat of Natipora by the Srinagar police.
The two, according to the authorities, were threatening store owners.
The Srinagar police claimed in a tweet that the group was using virtual numbers to pretend to be terrorists while sending false threat letters to business owners in exchange for money.
