The government and auto industry need to work together to help revive the sector: Praful Patel

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Mr. Praful Patel today inaugurated the 12th Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2014, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The Minister in his address at the inaugural event called for greater cooperation between the auto industry and the Government to help revive the sector.

“There has been a temporary roadblock in the growth of the automobile industry during the last year and the ever-growing industry witnessed reversal of trend. It is important that the Government takes the right measures and gives incentives and energy stimulus to achieve a turnaround,” said Mr. Patel.

Mr. Praful Patel also inaugurated the first ever Electric Mobility Pavilion at the Auto Expo 2014- The Motor Show. The pavilion displays various concepts of Hybrid Automobiles, and will hold sessions educating visitors about the nuances of Electric Technology along with a practical experience of driving electric cars and two wheelers giving consumers a first-hand experience of the vehicles.

This pavilion will be positioned to showcase hybrid/ electric technology and vehicles from various vehicle and component manufacturers with the objective to demonstrate the level of industry’s readiness as a prelude to the roll out of NEMMP schemes.

The Day Two also witnessed key announcements by some of the biggest auto manufacturers in the country. From mass mobility vehicles to superbikes, from scooters to cross over cars, from e-vehicles to in car applications, the Auto Expo saw interesting concepts and launches on Day Two.

Day Three at the Auto Expo will be open to public.
