The Most-Anticipated Bollywood Movies to be Released in 2022

The Kashmir Files will hit the big screen on the 26th of January. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, this action movie takes you back to the 1990s. It deals with the real-life events that happened in the Kashmir valley over two decades ago.

The plot revolves around Kashmiri Pandits who were forcefully removed from the Kashmir Valley. The movie stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Puneet Issar.

The movie’s director Vivek Agnihotri is famous for The Tashkent Files, another real-life events-
inspired movie that throws light on the untimely death of Lal Bahadur Shastri, former prime minister
of India.

Attack

Another highly-anticipated Bollywood movie is Attack. Directed by Lakshya Raj Anand, the movie will
appear on the silver screen on the 28th of January.

Like the previously mentioned movie, Attack also takes inspiration from true events. In this action thriller, the storyline dealing with a major hostage crisis has every element of a great action thriller movie.

Attack stars John Abraham who plays the main character, Rakul Preet Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Elham Ehsas.

Badhaai Do

Directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Badhaai Do will be released in India on the 4th of February. Unlike two other movies from the list, Badhaai Do is a family drama movie that follows the everyday lives of a policeman, a physical education teacher, and their family and friends.

Badhaai Do is a sequel of the Badhaai Ho released in 2018 directed by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma. We do not know much about the movie’s plot, but we know that Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Rekha, Sheeba Chaddha, Ankur Rathee, and Neha Dhupia have the main roles.

Bhumi Pednekar plays a physical education teacher while Rajkumar Rao plays a policeman. The two
have not shared screen space before.

Shabaash Mithu

The last on this list appears Shabaash Mithu directed by Srijit Mukherji. The movie will be released on the 4th of February across India before it appears in other countries.

This is an excellent sports drama inspired by the life of Mithali Raj who in the movie is played by Tapsee Panu. Mithali Raj was born in 1982 in Rajasthan.

During her extremely fruitful career as a professional cricket player, she won quite a few international and national awards, including the Arjuna Award, Leading Woman Cricketer Award, Padma Shri, among many others.

The movie follows her from the very beginning of her career, until joining the Indian women’s national cricket team as its ODI and Test Captain.
