THIRD EDITION OF INDIA INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY EXPO 2020 ( VIRTUAL) CONCLUDED SUCCESFULLY
The third edition of the India International Hospitality Expo 2020 (IHE 2020), one of the biggest hospitality virtual sourcing show, concluded on Monday, December 7 after being extended for 2 days on demand by exhibitors. During the difficult times of pandemic, the management at India Expo Mart Limited took a tough call by announcing the most popular hospitality show going 100% virtual after consultation with the IHE advisory committee and stakeholders.
At the start of IHE2020, Mr Kumar had said “the show must go on”. True to his words, IHE2020 was able to present all the elements of a physical show on its dedicated online platform. These included an interactive showcase of products and services a conclave featuring discussions by industry leaders and experts on subjects of relevance to the hospitality sector, as well as cookery and mixology masterclasses and awards that were handed over to 70 industry achievers across the country.
With over 200+ exhibitors from various sectors showcasing Products, Equipment, Accessories, Tableware, Glassware & Machineries food, bakery, services etc other allied services, the platform hosted more than 4000 visitors over the span of 6 days expo. Our exhibitors were very happy with the results and queries being generated through the platform. Amit Bhandari, Founder, Jodhpur Antique appreciated the IHE efforts and mentioned that the his expectations was exceeded by the queries generated at the platform during the show. Mr. Dhirendra Sharma, Vice President, Hanse Textilvertrieb GmbH quoted that “proactive approach from IHE team helped us and ensured in making this event meaningful for us yet again”. Gurpreet Singh Dhaliwal, Founder, Ecoclean Hospitality admired the online platform to virtually interact with buyers and make contacts.
Along with the Expo, IHE 2020 also conducted various Knowledge session – 11 of them spread across the four days of the show – saw top hoteliers such as Mr K.B. Kachru, Ms Priya Paul, Mr Rajeev Menon, Mr Rajiv Kaul, Mr Dilip Puri, Ms Sonica Malhotra Kandhari, Mr Mandeep Lamba and Mr Anil Chadha, master chefs of the stature of Mr Davinder Kumar, Ms Manisha Bhasin and Mr Manish Mehrotra, leading restaurateurs such as Mr Anurag Katriar, Mr AD Singh, Mr Rahul Singh, Mr Zorawar Kalra and Mr Manu Chandra, and interior designers Ms Sunita Kohli and Mr Hemant Sud. These information-loaded interactions uplifted the quality of discussions with their sharp insights and turned IHE2020 into as much a knowledge fest as a showcase of top-of-the-shelf hospitality products and services.
This year IHE also organised 6 culinary masterclasses in association with ICF by some famous chefs and a wine and a whiskey training session by mixologist Ankur Chawla, giving the audience some interesting facts and tricks to taste and enjoy wines and spirits. Another Live masterclass by hosted by Chef Saaransh Goila, of famous Goila Butter chicken, who prepared some mouth-watering recipes using Olives from Spain in association with I love Olives from Spain.
Our country partner Peru also hosted a Pisco and Peruvian Gastronomy Masterclass and a Traditional Textile Masterclass in association with Embassy of Peru in India on the platform.
“By then, the Covid-19 vaccine would be in place and international travel should have opened up, making it possible for the India Expo Mart Limited (IEML) to organise a physical show perhaps even bigger than IHE2019,” the organisation’s chairman, Mr Rakesh Kumar, said.
THE fourth edition of the India International Hospitality Expo (IHE 2021) will be held on August 4-7, 2021, and it will be a physical show at the India Expo Mart & Centre in Greater Noida.
