New Delhi (India), April 3, 2023: Tragedy struck Kerala’s Kozhikode on Sunday when a man allegedly set fire to a co-passenger on board an express train, leading to three deaths and injuring nine others.

According to police reports, the deceased included a woman, a one-year-old child, and another unidentified person. Their bodies were discovered on the tracks near Elathur railway station several hours after the fire incident.

Although the accused has not yet been identified, a murder case has been filed against him. While early reports suggested that the incident may have resulted from an argument, the discovery of a suspicious bag on the train has raised concerns about a potential terrorist angle, which police say cannot be ruled out.

The horrific incident has left authorities scrambling for answers and sent shockwaves through the community. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
