TN and WB governments announce financial aid for victims in Odisha

New Delhi, 03rd June 2023: With the country dealing with the shocking train accident in Odisha, leaders across all states are working out ways to assist the people.

Tamil Nadu State CM, M K Stalin, announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh has been provided to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh has been provided to the injured in the Balasore railway tragedy. Stalin went to the State Emergency Operation Centre in Chennai on Saturday to observe the situation firsthand. He also spoke with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, assuring him of the Tamil Nadu government’s complete support and help.

Furthermore, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also announced that the Bengal government will provide ₹5 lakh each for the next of kin of those killed in the accident and ‘cooperate with the Odisha government.’

An amount of ₹1 lakh has been announced for the injured and ₹50,000 each will be given to the victims of the state.
