Tourist spots, star hotels should hoist the tricolor: Tourism Minister

Himachal Pradesh, Sept 21st, 2022: Union Minister of Tourism G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday said that the Indian flag should be hoisted at all tourist spots and famous hotels in order to promote Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Reddy was speaking at the three-day national conference of state tourism ministers in the city of Dharamshala.
He suggested that permanent poles should be installed at all tourist destinations in India for hoisting the flag.

“There is no better branding for tourism in India than by hoisting the Indian flag outside tourist destinations and hotels”, he said.

The ministers’ conference also adopted the Dharamshala Declaration 2022 committing itself to develop sustainable and responsible tourism in India and emphasizing the country’s role in contributing to the global recovery of tourism in the post-pandemic period.

Reddy also asserted that by 2030, the ministry will achieve the target of providing 14 crore jobs through tourism, 2.5 crore foreign tourist arrivals, and $56 billion in FEE(Foreign Exchange Earnings).
