New Delhi, 03rd June 2023: A horrific train accident, which is now being touted as one of the worst in Indian history, has claimed 238 lives in the Indian state of Odisha.
The crash involved 2 passenger trains and one carrying goods, the force of the accident meant that the carriages were lifted high into the air, twisting and then smashing off the tracks. Another carriage had been tossed entirely onto its roof, crushing the passenger section.

The National Disaster Response Force and the local rescue teams carried out the rescue measures late at night. Leaders across the country took to social media to offer their condolences to the grieving families.
State CM Naveen Patnaik reached the Balasore district hospital site to check on the injured, as the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw added that a high-level committee has already been declared to conduct an inquiry.
