Twins’ parents get raw deal in nursery admissions

Twins are getting a bad deal yet again although the Directorate of Education has stated that twins will be considered in the sibling category from this year. In its “Frequently Asked Questions” section, DoE has explained its decision saying it “will be convenient and comfortable to parents in terms of transportation, timing etc.” Most schools did not get that memo and parents seeking to admit twins are finding themselves unable to apply in that category. The sibling category – bearing 20 points – has the second largest chunk of points after the distance category which has 70 points.
