Gurgaon, July 27 (IANS) Two brothers were fired at by four men following a property dispute in Gurgaon, leading to the death of one, police said on Wednesday.

The condition of the other is stated to be critical.

Vinod Kumar, 40, and his younger brother Daudyal, residents of Laxman Vihar, were allegedly shot at by a criminal, Surjeet Kataria, and his three accomplices.

“Kataria, Sonu, Dev and Sunil have been booked for the crime. We are conducting raids to nab the accused,” Ajayveer Singh, Chief of Rajendra Park police station, told IANS. “Our investigation is on.”

Vinod died on the spot, while Daudyal was admitted in a private hospital.

Police said Kataria, who is also convicted for murdering a person in Haryana’s Narnaul city and is serving a life sentence, was out on parole.

The parole jumper, who is a resident of a Gurgaon village, had bought a plot from Vinod for Rs 25 lakh.

Kataria failed to get the plot’s registration in his name as he was sentenced to life term, and later Vinod allegedly denied the registration and also refused to return the money.
