Two held by Delhi Police for running fake voter ID website

New Delhi, December 23: Delhi Police on Wednesday held two for allegedly running a fake voter ID card website.

Shewta Chauhan, DCP Delhi said, “The two culprits were running a fake website voterIdard.ebharatseva.in,
a name alike to that of a government website, scamming citizens in the name of making changes or to make a new Voter ID card.”

“A government or Institutional website never asks for money to make changes in a voter ID card or to make a new one. The culprits scammed many citizens by charging Rs. 650 for voter ID card,” DCP added

DCP further informed that the culprits promoted their fake website all over the nation, through google advertisements, because of which, the website used to appear on top when someone used to search about it on the Google search bar.

The culprits were caught by the cyber unit of Kamla Nagar district police station.
