UDAY Would Benefit States,Help in Continuous Power Supply: Piyush Goyal

While efforts will be made by the Power Distribution of the state to improve their operational efficiency and thereby reduce the cost of power supply, the central government would also provide incentives to the state government. Piyush Goyal made following statement during a MOU signing event in New Delhi today.

Demand based intervention in UDAY such as usage of energy efficient LED bulbs, agricultural pumps, fans and air-conditioners as well as efficient industrial equipment through PAT(Perform, Achieve Trade) would help in reducing peak load, flatten load curve candidates thus help in reducing energy consumption in various states.

An overall net benefit of approximately Rs309cr. would be experienced by the state by opting to participate in UDAY scheme, minister added.
