NATIONAL LAUNCH OF PROF PR TRIVEDI'S BOOK ON MEDICAL TOURISM

Under the globally acclaimed banner of “World Management Congress” and V2 Motion Pictures, a unique conclave titled “Unlock Healthcare” was organized in Paryavaran Complex, IGNOU Road, Saket on Saturday, 21st June 2014. The key objective of “Unlock Healthcare” being to evaluate and appreciate the role of Medical Tourism in improving the healthcare system of the country.

The distinct aspect about the Conclave was that the panelists were duly informed in advance that the Conclave session would continue indefinitely till the experts were successful in exploring the key remedial measures needed to address the existing lacunas in the modern day healthcare system.

Akin to an audience viewing a live stage play, a cricket match, a movie, or a parliament session in full action, the riveting Conclave too had an impressive turnout of spectators who came to witness crucial healthcare related issues being brainstormed threadbare by the experts from diverse fields in an ambience of total transparency.

The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremony by the chief guest of the evening, Executive Director of United Nations Global Compact Network India Dr Pooran Chandra Pandey. This was followed by the national launch of the Legendary Institution Builder Prof. PR Trivedi’s book titled “Unlocking the Myth of Medical Tourism”.  While unveiling a copy of the new Book, Sudha Bhardwaj from the World Spiritual Parliament (WSP) hailed the initiative of Prof. PR Trivedi by terming it as a ‘noteworthy’ step towards bridging the gaps and the lacunas in the healthcare system of India.

Prior to the actual Conclave, there was an open house session with the healthcare experts responding to the questions raised by the audience.

The healthcare Conclave which happened to be the special attraction of the evening was conducted in a big round table with Prof PR Trivedi chairing the session, and the audience seated at a distance few metres away. The Conclave began with noted Holistic Medicine Physician Dr RK Tuli suggesting the profound need for introducing a holistic approach to the overall healthcare system, besides expressing deep remorse over the frequent use of the term ‘alternate medicine’ for the holistic way of treatment. Noted social activist Sudha Bhardwaj advocated the need for minimizing the tax burden on the healthcare products, and the grave need for adopting a single window system for ensuring an uncomplicated healthcare facility to the citizens. Eliminating the role of touts and enforcing a ban on quackery was discussed by cosmetologist Dr Vimal Malik who’s a name to reckon with in the Indian Film Industry for having Bollywood A-lister’s as his clients.

Founder of “Unlock Healthcare” concept and Director of World Management Congress Vishal Salhotra enlightened how ‘Encouraging and supporting Innovations’ can make a significant contribution in scaling greater peaks in the field of healthcare and wellness. Vice President of the Association of Greater Noida Industries (AGNI) Aditya Ghildyal gave an assurance that his organization would play a pivotal role in inspiring the corporate houses as well as the private sector for joining hands with the government agencies for improving the healthcare infrastructure in the country. Eminent Interventional Cardiologist and chairman of Lipid Association of India (LAI) Dr Raman Puri emphasized upon motivating the corporates and philanthropic organizations for doing more CSR activities in the field of healthcare, as well as the need to allocate a sizeable budget towards the healthcare industry.

The marathon conclave concluded well past midnight with the delegate members unraveling a 20 point resolution to be submitted to the representatives of the new Central government. After the ceremonious vote of thanks by Prof PR Trivedi, sumptuous dinner was served to the delegate members and the audience.
