New Delhi (30/10/2022): As pollution levels deteriorate in Delhi, the Center’s air quality panel on Saturday directed the National Capital Region authorities to immediately impose curbs as per Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

Restrictions include curbs on construction and demolition activities except for essential projects pertaining to national security, defence, railways, and metro rail, among others.

Delhi’s overall air quality recorded at 9:30 am on Sunday showed “367 AQI”. It showed 397 at 4 pm on Saturday, 354 on Thursday, 271 on Wednesday, 302 on Tuesday, and 312 on Monday (Diwali).

Taking the worsening air quality into account, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) stated that authorities may impose curbs on the plying of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheelers to improve the severe situation.
