A delegation of victims of 1984 anti-sikh riots today called upon union home minister, Rajnath Singh.
The delegation sought payment of their long pending compensation. “Central government had ordered to pay Rupees 5 lakh to each victim family many years back but not a penny has been paid so far,” said Aatmaram Singh, victim of ’84 riots.
The delegation also demanded engagement of one member from each government family for a government job. “The victim families were left devastated after the riots and government had also promised a job for one member of each victim family,” he said. “We have brought these issues to Home minister’s notice and hope that they will soon resolve them.”
