VIGYAN BHAWAN TO BE REPLICATED – NEW DELHI’S ENVY GREATER NOIDA’S PRIDE
Greater Noida: Construction of a mega convention facility, on the lines of Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan, is likely to begin in Knowledge Park II of Greater Noida in April. The centre will house an auditorium, a food plaza, space for exhibitions and seminars, an art gallery, a fitness centre and a library.
Tenders for the project are likely to be initiated next month and the budget is set to be approved in a board meeting in March, officials said. The estimated cost of the convention centre, which will be across 31.25 acres, is about Rs 1,500 crore.
Deepak Agarwal, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) CEO, on Friday held a meeting to expedite the project.
According to officials, the convention centre, designed on the lines of Vigyan Bhavan – a premier convention centre of government of India in Delhi – will be constructed in a public private partnership (PPP) model.
