New Delhi, June 13: Speaking about extradition of absconding loans-defaulter Vijay Mallya, General VK Singh today said that extradition is not a simple case as we think it to be. Singh said that documents by ED have been sent to the United Kingdom and as soon as the law will permit, Vijay Mallya will be brought back to India. “Whenever UK gives go ahead for him to be extradited, can’t fix time frame: MoS MEA VK Singh when asked when we expect (sic),” Singh said.
A hearing is scheduled on the extradition of Vijay Mallya who is accused of fraud, is out on bail after being arrested in April by Scotland Yard on a warrant by India. On Tuesday, Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will be arguing on behalf of India at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
