Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was asked by theCongress on Monday to explain the reason for the ‘criminal negligence’ behind the delay in the inquiry into the Vyapamscam. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala posed 10 questions relating to the case at a media briefing, demanding answers from the chief minister.

1. The Vyapam scam was of a huge magnitude, wherein the future of 76 lakh was blocked, naked corruption took place, naked bribery was taking place, scorers were being appointed, papers were being changed. How could such a mammoth corruption scam be carried on without the complicity and knowledge of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan?

2. Why was Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan not able to stop this sinister scam between 2009- 2013 when he had known about the scam on July 5, 2009?

3. In the Madhya Pradesh Assembly in January 2014, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a statement that an investigative committee was formed on December 17, 2009 and that a meeting was held on January 27, 2011. Why was that report not made public?

4. Will Shivraj Chouhan tell the people of India the reason for the criminal negligence in delay in not conducting the inquiry in the Vyapam scam. Is it the truth that only a lid was being placed on the Vyapam scam by fallacious inquiries?

5. An FIR in the Vyapam case was lodged on a close aid of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the then Technical Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma in 2013. After six months, he was arrested. His former personal secretary Premchand Prasad too was arrested, but released on bail later. Will the Chief Minister explain why and how his close aids are involved in the matter?

6. Even today, the NGO headed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan has people like Deputy President Dr. Ajay Shankar Mehta, Treasurer of MP BJP Kuldeep Sharma, Gulab Singh Chauhan, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s relative Surjeet Singh Bhadauria – all of whom are accused in the Vyapam scam. But none of them have been arrested so far. How can Shivraj Singh be seen as untainted in such a scenario?

7. Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself was a Medical Education Minister between December 2008 to March 2012, so why should the investigation on the scam exclude the Chief Minister?

8. If the SIT itself feels threatened, how can it investigate the case thoroughly and authentically?

9. Reacting to the demise of journalist Akshay Singh,FINANCE Minister Arun Jaitley said that the case should be investigated fairly. Even the Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the same thing. But Shivraj Singh Chouhan declined the chances of this yesterday itself. Does Chouhan not listen to his own government? Or is the BJP following the RSS’ classic way of saying different things, to ultimately confuse the people?

10. “If he (Chouhan) and his family members are not involved in the Mahaghotala, why is he skirting a CBI probe?” Congress state chief Arun Yadav said. Shivraj Singh Chouhan says that the Jabalpur bench of the High Court is against the CBI investigation, but he is misleading the nation, the Congress further said. The High Court never instructed against a CBI investigation. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should be suspended from his post with immediate effect, so that the case can be investigated fairly and quickly, the party demanded.
