New Delhi, 15 May 2022: “Our students are good in theory but lack in practical knowledge, that is where priority should be given,” said Dr G Viswanathan, President, EPSI and Founder and Chancellor of VIT, Vellore.

Dr. Viswanathan was speaking to Ten News at EPSI’s Indian B-schools’ Leadership Conclave.

He highlighted another main problem that is the unavailability of good professors. Many of them go out of the country and we are unable to attract best of students for teaching profession because we cannot pay like industries. I know it myself that my best of students are not coming back for teaching, only a few of them do. “We should offer some incentive to them to become professors,” he added.

When asked about B-School’s role in promoting equality, Dr Viswanathan stated that it can be done by combined efforts of union government, state government and the education institutions. “I want the youngsters of the country to become aware of this because inequality goes against democracy, we can cut it down by the allowing the food of growth to reach all.

“We can witness how it has happened in other countries like Japan or Korea, where the inequality is lesser. I think we should learn from them,” he concluded.
