Won’t cremate body till written job assurance is obtained, says #Gurdaspur SP Baljit Singh’s family

Despite the announcements made by the state government, the victim’s family has sought for a written assurance about government jobs to be given to Gurdaspur Superintendant of Police (Detective) Baljit Singh’s children. The family members of Baljit have said that the dead body won’t be cremated until they receive the written assurance.

A big crowd was seen outside Baljit’s residence to mourn his death.

Widow of the late SP, Kulwant Kaur has asked from the government that her son Maninder Pal be appointed as SP and her daughter be made tehsildar. The family was left wandering for two years to get a job when Baljit’s father, also a police officer, Achhar Singh was killed in a similar fashion, reported Zee. Kulwant Kaur also blamed Punjab Police for having substandard weapons.
