A  workshop on clay modeling, organized by AD The Design School at their campus Malviya Nagar . The Workshop covered important aspects of clay modeling techniques guided by expert sculptural ceramicists & clay modelers from the school. The coverage spanned techniques in texture and form with surface design and sculpture, providing opportunities for learners to broaden their experience with various techniques and the creative planning of pieces.

In this workshop, students went through a series of processes of working form. They explored a variety of ways to create lively clay surfaces on tiles and make their own clay reference tiles, working from images and examples to portray a range of design techniques. They worked on volumetric forms of their choices, with a collaborative assignment. The Students also learned how clay modeling should be used to understand 3D modeling.

Speaking on the occasion Dean of A.D The Design School, Mr. Digant Sharma said one of the key elements in visual art is form, which is, shape in three dimensions. Clay in particular is a very useful medium for enabling students to explore this element. Clay encourage physical manipulation and even the simplest of physical actions like poking, patting, squeezing, or piling it up produces a quick & satisfying transformation to its shape and form.
