3 kids among 10 hurt in Gr Noida accidents

GREATER NOIDA: Ten people, including three children, were injured in two separate road accidents here on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the first incident took place at 8.30am when a cab was on its way to Noida from Greater Noida. The accident occurred near the zero point of Yamuna Expressway.

A senior police officer said that the cab driver, who is missing since the accident, lost control of the vehicle and it rammed a moving truck, which was hired by the Greater Noida Authority to clean roads. Seven passengers in the cab, identified as Kulvinder, Diwan Chand Sharma, Rohtash, Farhan, Yogesh, Bishan and Devesh, suffered injuries. They all work for an IT company

, police said, adding that other commuters rescued the victims and informed police. The injured, who were rushed to a private hospital in Greater Noida, were said to be out of danger.

Bishan has been referred to a Delhi-based hospital while Devesh was discharged after being administered first aid. The others are recuperating in the hospital. Police are yet to begin their investigation into this accident.

The second accident occurred under Surajpur police station limits at 9.30am. A police officer said that a truck carrying an empty iron container was heading from Tilpta to Surajpur. When it reached near the Sai temple roundabout, the driver lost control and the truck rammed into the green belt, following which the container flipped. In the impact, three children, who were sitting on the green belt, were injured.

Police said the three children, identified as Aarti (3), Ajay (1) and Niranjan (9), suffered head injuries. “Their mother Rajkumari works as a labourer with the Greater Noida Authority. She chops grass on the green belt and

was working there at the time of the accident,” a police officer said. All the children were rushed to Gopal hospital in Greater Noida, where they are recuperating.
