Yoga Day celebrated at ITS College of Pharmacy
11th International Day of Yoga is observed globally on 21stJune every year to emphasise the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga. In adherence to the directives issued by Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, I.T.S College of Pharmacy actively participated in this nationwide initiative under the generous sponsorship and enthusiastic involvement of Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group. He emphasized the need for Yoga, which can provide a holistic approach to health and well-being and creates a harmony between humans and nature. The event was aligned with the 2025 theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlighting yoga’s integral role in sustaining the health of individuals and the planet.
The main objective of this event was to mark International Yoga Day by aiming to establish a world record through the simultaneous performance of ‘Surya Namaskar Yog Mudra’. Students, faculty and staff members participated in this coordinated effort, which aimed to showcase unity, discipline, and the collective commitment to health and wellness.
On the morning of 21st June, 2025, students, faculty members, and staff of the college enthusiastically participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations. The event commenced promptly at 8:00 AM and continued until 8:10 AM. Students assembled at the college by 7:30 AM for the group performance. The highlight of the session was the synchronised execution of the ‘Surya Namaskar Yog Mudra’, performed simultaneously by all participants in the same time frame. The activity demonstrated the spirit of collaboration and the college’s alignment withnational wellness goals.
The successful execution of ‘Surya Namaskar Yog Mudra’ by participants in unison contributed to the collective effort of setting a world record. The event not only promoted physical fitness but also instilled a sense of unity, discipline, and national pride among the participants. The event was well organised by the Coordinators Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Professor), Mr. Shubh Deep Yadav (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Shubhanshu Goel (Assistant Professor). Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director appreciated the coordinators for their efforts in organizing the event.
