Young Shuttlers of Delhi all set to Clash in Fourth Edition of PNB Metlife Badminton Championship!

New Delhi: PNB MetLife, one of India’s leading life insurance companies, kick-started the Delhi leg of the fourth season of Junior Badminton Championship in delhi today. The tournament is one of the biggest National open platforms for Badminton which is being held at Thyagaraj Sports Complex, Delhi.

The first day of the five-day tournament In the city will see over 1119 young future prodigies engaging in epic clashes. The fourth season of the tournament promises more exciting and highoctane badminton action.

The tournament was inaugurated Uman Chopra, Senior Vice President, Delhi Capital Badminton Association (DCBA) who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest in the presence of Guest of Honours, Rekha Sukla Vice President, Delhi Capital Badminton Association (DCBA) and Apinder Sabharwat, international Badminton umpire.

Speaking to Ten News on the occasion, Ram Kumar, Zonal Head, PNB Said,

“Over the years JBC 4 has become a much awaited event and it is heartening to see the response to the tournament in different cities. We have used an integrated communication approach to promote this Olympic sport so that more children can benefit from playing it. We
expect to have a total of 8000 children participate in this year’s edition. We are committed to provide more chiidren access to this platform.”

The Chief Guest for the event,Chopra, said, ”We see an evolution in badminton in India because of good
performances in the last many years. It is good for the game if we have more young people participating in the sport. With platforms like PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship, it is a step in the right direction.”
