Zomato, Zypp Electric Collaborate to Deploy 1 Lakh e-scooters for Last Mile Deliveries

New Delhi (India), 25th April 2023: On April 25, electric mobility company Zypp Electric announced its plans to deploy one lakh electric scooters for last-mile deliveries in partnership with Zomato by 2024.

Zypp said in a statement, “As part of the tie-up, Zypp will also provide delivery partners to Zomato for the last-mile deliveries in various cities across the country.”

The business said that as part of its sustainable mobility plan, more than 13,000 of its electric vehicles are presently on the road. It also stated that it aims to considerably cut carbon emissions by as much as 35 million kg. The document claimed that by 2024, “the target is to achieve more than one crore green deliveries through EVs.”

They further added, “This association is a part of a larger plan of Zomato to go completely electric by 2030, as part of its commitment to “The Climate Group’s EV100” initiative.”

Tushar Mehta, Co-founder and COO, Zypp Electric said, “By leveraging our EV fleet management technology and innovative partner solutions, we aim to create a more efficient, sustainable, and customer-centric delivery experience.”

Around 50 companies, including aggregators and e-commerce platforms, are currently served by the e-mobility platform.

Mohit Sardana, COO of Zomato Food Deliveries also commented on the collaboration and said, “This association will enable us to significantly reduce carbon emissions and bring more sustainable last-mile delivery options to our customers. We look forward to working together to create more efficient and environment friendly deliveries.”
