#AAP on #BJP-led hate campaign against JNUSU President #KanhaiyaKumar
Aam Aadmi Party strongly condemns the malicious hate campaign unleashed by the BJP and its frontal organizations against the JNU Students Union President, Kanhaiya Kumar.
The country’s ruling party seems to be crossing all limits with even some of its union ministers and MPs indulging in an all out verbal assault and open threats to a young student, and they are not even sparing the late Rohith Vemula.
The sequence of statements by BJP leaders, particularly on Saturday, point towards a well thought out strategy to browbeat the students who are raising a voice of dissent against the central government’s wrong policies.
The AAP demands the immediate arrest and strict action against those behind the highly condemnable and illegal posters put up in parts of central Delhi, offering a cash award to anyone who eliminates JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar.
These posters are part of a malicious hate campaign, which is being boosted by atrocious statements repeatedly coming from some BJP leaders and frontal organizations of this party, in a clear attempt to stifle the voices of those politically opposed to the BJP.
The AAP views these posters as an extremely dangerous sign which can disturb the law and order situation in the national capital. Delhi Police should immediately arrest the individual in whose name the posters have been put up and it must find out who is the mastermind behind the entire conspiracy.
The growing BJP unease with institutions of higher learning in the country does not augur well for the future of democracy in the country. The latest ridiculous statement of its Lok Sabha MP Yogi Adityanath attacking the JNU proves that this party will go to any extent where students are opposed to its divisive ideology.
Going a step further, the union minister of state for external affairs, Mr VK Singh, who is not a stranger to controversies, is reported to have even attacked the late Rohith Vemula, in a bid to run down kanhaiya Kumar.
