Aim of OORJA is to create an upward atmosphere for Football : Rajnath Singh, Home Minister

The Minister of Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh during the OORJA launch event said that in the run up to the U-17 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in India in October 2017, State Police and Central Armed Police Forces should organise a football tournament with active engagement of young students, so that a feeling of competition is instilled among them.

The objectives of the OORJA tournament are to be a part of Mission XI Million, to create fervour for football among the youth of India and to select promising players to represent our country in the Asian championship
