ASSOCHAM stresses on transformation of Manufacturing sector of India

Manufacturing Sector of India has declined to its lowest level since February 2009, following the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). The Nikkei India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) stood at 47.9 in July, down from 50.9 in June, and highlighted the first deterioration in business conditions in 2017 so far.

Presenting all the above equations and data, ASSOCHAM India on Tuesday in New Delhi stressed on transforming the entire manufacturing sector through various ways and urged the Union government to provide an environment of ‘Ease of Business’ module in the nation.

Speakers also criticised the working and performance of current Manufacturing companies and said that, manufacturing companies need to think out of the box to generate jobs in the sector.
