Goods and Services Tax (GST) law is going to come in implementation from 1st july and the anxiety and curiosity in market is on its pinnacle regarding the same.
Speaking on GST Aam Aadmi Party trade wing member Brijesh Goyal said ,”As a concept GST is a good move. One Nation One Tax is something we entirely support. We also hope many things will get better after implementation of GST”.
However he said that it is not an unconditional support and their are changes that government must make to make the law better and acceptable to all. He added, “Our opposition against GST is issue based. The rate slab of GST is un-justified on many products. Items such as auto-spare parts, tractor parts, bathroom-fitting, cement, building material, etc. have been kept in a 28% slab which is completely unjustified. Timber, plastic waste are in 18% slab. Branded dal, rice, eating materials as well as clothes are in 5% slab. We want to say that daily need things should not be put in luxury slab”
Giving his suggestions regarding changes in GST, Brijesh Goyal said, “Reverse charge is very wrong. Return process is also very complicated. Small manufacturers will have a tough time competing with big manufacturers. I hope that if tax slabs become better and some rectifications are brought then this GST bill will become acceptable to all”
