INNOVATION ADDS VALUE, GENERATES MONEY: UNION HRD MINISTER PRAKASH JAVADEKAR AT ASSOCHAM

New Delhi: HRD minister Prakash Javadekar said that the innovation culture should be built in the universities and schools.
While addressing the 10th ASSOCHAM higher education summit and National excellence awards-2017 Javadekar said that it is the innovation which has changed European countries.
“Our students are going western countries for higher education, the reason behind their leaving is that we don’t have innovations in the colleges and universities,” the HRD minister said.
He added that Our Prime Minister is doing every effort in bringing the innovation in the varsities to change the age old culture in India.
“We are giving every year millions of rupees to the students from the Prime Minister scholarship programme where they can access the best labs in the world,” the minister said.
He said that the need of hour is to challenge the telescope like equipment and bring out a new innovation like Steve Jobs who have made I Phone.
The minister further added that students should be given technical and innovative knowledge to deal with the current situation.
ASSOCHAM also presented National excellence awards-2017 to those who have contributed significantly in the quality of education all over India.
