New Delhi : Cyber crime in India is on sharp rise. Recently a person named Parag Shah from Delhi became the victim of a cyber gang and lost an amount of ₹60000.

Speaking to theTen News, Parag said that he received a call from a member of this gang who made him believe that he was an army man. He then ordered Parag trophies worth ₹60000 and in response Parag asked for an advance!
The fake caller then asked Parag for some details. Because cash was the only medium that Parag used, he initially denied for an online transaction but the person on the other side convinced Parag and made him download Google pay. After downloading the application the person who was showing himself as an army man, asked Parag to fill the payment link they sent him on WhatsApp.

Parag said that instead of receiving the amount in his bank account, his account was credited for an amount of ₹60,000 and the client switched off his phone!

Parag became victim of cyber fraud and filed FIR the very next day.

Ten News then had a word with Anuj Agarwal who is expert in cyber crime and security and is associated with Computer Society of India said that this gang is really very smart!

“There are many similar cases filed before as well. This gang uses various applications that can hack your private information with just a single lead! Cyber Security wings of governments are working continuously to find this gang but they are smart. They know how to hide and that’s why they could not be reached till date. They use RAT (Remote Access Tool) to use credentials similar to some personal information and make various transactions from someone else’s account”, Anuj Agarwal added.
