India News (02/06/2026) : 1. JEE Advanced 2026 Results Out; Shubham Kumar Secures AIR 1 IIT Roorkee has officially declared the JEE Advanced results. Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone has clinched the All India Rank (AIR) 1. Out of the candidates who appeared, 56,880 have successfully qualified. Arohi Deshpande from Pune emerged as the top female scorer.
2. JoSAA Counseling 2026 Registration Begins Following the JEE Advanced results, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has opened its registration and choice-filling portal today at 5:00 PM. This kicks off the admissions process for prestigious IITs, NITs, and IIITs across five seat-allotment rounds.
3. Cyberattack Attempts Hit the CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation Portal
Just as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) activated its Class 12 re-evaluation portal, it was targeted by heavy cyberattacks, including a Denial of Service (DoS) attack. The system logged an overwhelming 1.5 million hits in just a two-minute window as over 16,000 students tried to log in, causing massive access delays.

7. NTA Announces CUET-UG Re-Test for 3,700 Candidates After Tech Glitches
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced it will host a re-test for 3,765 CUET-UG candidates. These students were forced to leave their exam halls without completing their papers earlier due to severe server crashes and technical breakdowns at specific test centers.
8. NEET-UG to Shift to Fully Computer-Based Format by 2027 In a significant affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court, the NTA shared that a high-level expert committee has formally recommended moving the high-stakes medical entrance exam (NEET-UG) completely away from traditional pen-and-paper to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) model starting in 2027.
9. NMC Proposes Restoring 10-Year Time Limit to Complete MBBS Course The National Medical Commission (NMC) has floated a new draft proposal to restore a strict 10-year maximum deadline for students to complete their MBBS course, including the compulsory rotatory medical internship. The draft maintains a four-attempt cap for the first professional exam and is currently open for public feedback.
10. Punjab Orders Summer Vacations Till June 30 Amid Extreme Heatwave
