• 21st National Youth Festival kicks off in Rohtak,Haryana on the occasion of National Youth Day to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary • PM Modi addressed the youth via video conferencing • Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Sh.Vijay Goel Goel inaugurated the festival along with Haryana CM MLA Khattar, Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij and others January 12, 2017: The 21st National Youth Festival kicked off in Rohtak, Haryana today with participation of over 5000 youth from various fields. The ceremony was inaugurated by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel along with CM of Haryana ML Khattar, Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij and many other dignitaries. PM Modi addressed the youth via video conferencing and urged them to work for nation building with a renewed spirit. PM also encouraged them to be the drivers of change and push the economy with vigour and enthusiasm towards a digital economy that would help India become a global powerhouse. Interacting with the media, Youth Affairs Minister Vijay Goel said, “By 2020, we will be the youngest nation in the world and therefore we have to train and guide our youth so that they are well equipped to be the leaders of tomorrow “. The National Youth Fest started off with cultural events depicting the rich heritage of India and also the transition towards a Digital economy which is also the theme for this year. The festival will be on till 16th January and youngsters from various fields will get to showcase their talent and skills through various programmes planned during the course of the festival.
