500 Lawyers in Rohini Protest Against Kiran Bedi’s Blatant MIsuse of Power

Today, on 27.01.2015 at 1.00 pm at Gate No. 1 of District & Session Court, Rohini an effigy of Ms. Kiran Bedi, a projected candidate for Chief Minister on the behalf of BJP Party was burnt, under the leadership of Sh. Indersingh Siroha, President of the Rohini Bar Association along with his office bearers and large number of members of the legal fraternity.  Mr. Siroha contented that the Ms. Bedi shall not be accepted and tolerated at any cost for CM candidature for Delhi.

The BJP Party has committed blunder by projecting her as Chief Minister Candidate as her tenure as DCP North and in other postings were always questioned. It is a matter of record that on various occasions she has ordered for brutal lathi charge on lawyers and innocent citizens who were doing peaceful demonstration for asserting their civil right and to seek justice. Mr. Naushad Ahmad Khan, Advocate Supreme Court of India, coordinator of Action Committee of All Bar Associations of Delhi said that one who takes law for granted while holding constitutional and authoritative position has to act responsibly. It has come in various reports including Wadhwa Commission report where her conduct was questioned; she did access of unbearable actions extent to the innocent citizens and has tried to suppress the rights of the people.

Mr. Ashkar Hussain Pasha, Advocate an activist and reformist said that her conduct as a whole is like a tyrant and dictator and doesn’t believe in dialogue or peaceful talks. Ms. Bedi on many occasions has exercised extreme dictatorship which is not good to serve the public at large. Therefore, projecting Ms. Bedi as Chief Minister Candidature is not under larger Public Interest and this way our city doesn’t want and dictatorial rule.

In procession more that 500 lawyers have participated and they were in full anguish and said that we earlier supported Sh. Narender Modi, Prime Minister of India with full zeal but we shall not tolerate Ms. Bedi as projected Chief Minister Candidature. Mr. Ashok Garg, Vice President of the Bar Association and various renowned leaders of Bar Association were also present on the occasion. They all took pledge that they will work hard to get her defeated with big margin and such demonstrations shall continued in all district courts and quasi-judicial courts till the matter gets sorted. The legal fraternity will come out to support the cause in association with civil societies to further strengthen the moment.
