Greater Noida – July 23, 2016 — The 9TH  edition of Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Show (IFJAS 2016), organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), generated a business enquires worth Rs 122 crores during its three-day exposition which came to a close at the India Expo Centre and Mart here today informed Shri Rakesh Kumar, ED –EPCH.The show which was conceptualised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts few years has reached its 9th year in a row. EPCH had conceived a unique strategy few years ago to adopt an aggressive marketing approach for export promotion.  Amongst other measures, one of the important elements of strategy was to organize product specific fairs so as to cater to the product specific requirement of the importing Nations.  Fashion jewellery and accessories, being a potential product group in exports, was one of the steps for organizing fairs under this strategy beside furniture, home furnishing and houseware etc.Shri Kumar further added that overseas buyers from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungry, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherland, Turkey, UK, Russia, Latavia, Israel, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, USA, Canada and Australia visited the fair to source their requirements from a diverse range of products under one-roof showcased by over 250  Indian exporters and manufacturers  from various parts of India.Buyers evinced keen interest in India’s design elements anchored on trends interpreting various inspirations and tendencies and use of an assortment of material.This event is one of its kind of international show dedicated entirely to the jewellery and accessories industry in Asian Continent.The three-day B2B event focusing only export market  witnessed seminars onTrends and Forecast for Spring-Summer 2017 and 5 Digital marketing secrets to find new profitable clients for exporters at the fair venue for the benefits of participant exhibiting at IFJAS 2016.   Theme pavilions of North East and Eastern regions were also set up and artisans, craftpersons and entrepreneurs  have been provided a platform to display their crafts to the International buying community and were found main attractions of the show by the overseas  buyers. The product range on display included Hi fashion jewellery, semi precious jewllery, stoles, scarves, shawls, hand bags, clutch purses, belts, wallets, neck ties, beads, stones, crystals, head, hair accessories, fancy fashion footwear, tattoes and bindies keeping western tastes and preferences in focus.Ajay Shankar Memorial Awards–Gold, Silver and Bronze –were also given to the six deserving exhibitors in two different categories for best stall design, best product display and overall display from the design and product point of  view. During the year 2014-15, exports of fashion jewellery &accessories  were of the order of Rs.2502.06 crores which has increased to Rs. 2755 crores in 2015-16 registering a growth of 10% over the last year.  This is one of indication that Indian fashion jewellery & accessories has made considerable growth in exports, further elaborated Shri Kumar. The EPCH is a nodal agency under for promotion of handicrafts expots from India and projects India’s image abroad as a reliable supplier of high quality handicrafts
