#AAP response on some #BJP MPs demanding removal of Delhi LG :

The demand by a few BJP Lok Sabha MPs from Delhi seeking the removal of Lieutenant Governor, Mr Najeeb Jung, is nothing but a desperate tactic to divert attention from the real issue of central government’s unjustified interference in the functioning of Delhi government.

The Aam Aadmi Party is of the clear view that these MPs are merely shedding crocodile tears on this issue, since they cannot and do not have the courage to tell the central government of their own party that it continues to create unnecessary hurdles in the functioning of Delhi government.

The AAP would like to know from these MPs, what were they doing since seven months, when their central government misused the office of LG to virtually stall the functioning from day one of a government elected with a historic mandate by the voters of Delhi.

The AAP will expose the designs of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, which has thrown all norms and Constitutional propriety to the winds, in its revenge seeking exercise against the Delhi government.

The Fact remains that, both the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and BJP President, Mr Amit Shah, have not accepted their humiliating defeat in the February assembly elections of Delhi, and it is under their direct instructions that the office of LG has been turned into an active anti-Delhi government hub.

The latest instance is the September 17 dictatorial memorandum issued from the LG’s office, which clearly stated that it is being issued under instructions from the central government. It has been rightly questioned by the Delhi High Court, and the central government’s unjustified move will have to now undergo judicial scrutiny.

The AAP will continue its fight with full vigour against the BJP Central government’s interference in the functioning of Delhi government and will intensify the struggle for strengthening federalism.

Governors and LGs may come and go, but the problem will not be solved till the misuse of their offices is stopped and it is ensured that these Constitutional posts are not subjected to political pressures for settling scores by those rejected by the electrorate.
