Bizman shot dead in car, kin suspect loan behind murder
Noida: A mobile phone accessories distributor was allegedly shot dead by bike-borne assailants on Sunday night near Sector 44 in Noida. The deceased, identified as Mohit Chaddha (28), was travelling in his car with his friend when the crime occurred. An FIR has been lodged and a manhunt launched to nab the suspects.
The family suspects old enmity over money to be the cause of the murder.
According to residents, Chaddha left his office in F block in Sector 44 in his Renault Duster car, which his friend, Ashwini Tyagi alias Ashu, was driving.
When they came near Amrapali Sapphire group housing society, two bike-borne assailants slowed down their motorbike on the left side of the car where Chadda was sitting. “The suspects asked for an address, following which one of them took out a pistol and fired at Chaddha. One bullet hit Chaddha’s chest while another was fired at Ashu,” a senior police officer said, adding that Ashu had a miraculous escape as the bullet grazed past his ear and hit behind the driver seat.
Ashu then sped towards the office. “Chaddha’s friend, Nikku Yadav, was in the office. He called the police control room and drove the car to Fortis hospital, where doctors declared Chaddha brought dead,” he said.
Nikku Yadav, who is from Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad, told TOI, “Ashu told me that the suspects were wearing helmets. The pillion rider was carrying a polythene bag. They asked for an address and as Mohit rolled down the car window, they opened fire on him. The doctors checked him inside the car and declared him dead.”
Ashu and Chaddha are business partners who import accessories from Hong Kong and China. Family sources said Mohit Chaddha had given Rs 2 crore to a resident of Sadupur village in Noida who deals in coal business.
