New Delhi : Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, India said ‘Women have been offered respect since Manuspritis, vedaas in the history too. Role of women also changed in Medieval parts of Indian history. Vedic Sanskrit says Jahan women hai wahan devon ka vaas hai. Otheriwse the kriya is not fulfilled.’
‘Difficulties of women remain global. It’s everywhere- leadership roles are limited for women. In the unorganized sector women contribution is 36% and organised it is 26%. Even the corporate India does not have women leaders. ‘
‘It’s not about women speaking to women for equality; it should be men who should be discussing this. Culturally looking at the positive aspect of women. If people have the image of brave men, then I am sorry I have seen brave women and compassionate too. Nothing is served to women on platter. Feminsation of men and musculisation of women- just strike a balance between the two.’
