MA student attacks girlfriend for refusing to leave him

Ghaziabad: Angry with his girlfriend for refusing to leave him, an MA student of Ghaziabad’s Sambhu Dayal Degree College allegedly attacked her with a knife on the college premises on Tuesday.

After slitting the neck of 22-year-old Pratibha, a second-year BA student of the college, Prashant tried to commit suicide by slitting his own neck, police said.

But both survived and were rushed to MMG Hospital by other students. While Pratibha was discharged later in the day, Prashant’s condition is said to be critical, and he has been referred to a hospital in Delhi.

Doctors said his chances of survival are bleak as he had consumed poison before attacking his girlfriend.
