#AAP on the murder of Dr Prashant Narang.

It is a matter of grave concern that incidents of road rage are assuming dangerous proportion in Delhi. The midnight murder of Dr. Prashant Narang in Vikas Puri raises very serious questions. It has been reported that the deceased doctor tried to call up the police control room van following his reported argument with two scooter-borne youth. The entire sequence which led to the gruesome incident clearly highlights lack of proper police patrolling, particularly at night hours.

Increasing stress levels, coupled with lack of local level interactions and complete failure of the police to perform its basic duties led to this gruesome incident.

The Aam Aadmi Party also believes that systematic politicization of Delhi Police by Modi Government has turned it into ineffective force. Miscreants have no fear of Delhi Police and they don’t think twice before committing a crime. We hope that the new police commissioner will take efforts to restore badly damaged credibility of the police in the eyes of the people of Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party strongly condemns the attempts by the BJP and the affiliates of the Sangh Pariwar to communalize this entire incident. The individuals associated with fringe right-wing organizations, that had earlier also tried to create trouble in the heart of Delhi are making desperate attempt to give a communal colour to this criminal act.

The party also appreciates the exemplary courage shown by a senior lady police officer of the area by coming forward in upright manner to quell all rumours which could have created communal tension in the ares.

The Aam Aadmi Party demands that those behind spreading rumours to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere through the use of social media platforms and word of mouth should be immediately booked for trying to create communal tension.
