Leading voluntary body Nav Sanjivan organized a string of programmes, including Satsamg, three-day Yoga training and an all-religion spiritual discourse, at Gurjinder Vihar in Greater Noida, which concluded here last evening. Nav Sanjivan, which has been created in the memory of late Captain Sanjeev Bana, organized the programme, “Safe and Harmonious World”, with the lofty objective of attaining “physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development” for all. The programme laid emphasis on people learning necessary techniques and skills to withstand stress and strain of a modern-day existence. It also taught them the importance of life based on Yoga and laws of Nature. The programme was organized to commemorate the memory of late Captain Gurjinder Singh Suri.  Shri Simpal, the founder of Nav Sanjivan, said family, economic and work-related stresses have now increased to such an extent that it is not easy for everyone to face them, and it is because of these reasons that incidences of suicide are now rapidly increasing in the society. Keeping these facts in view, it is imperative for everyone to learn the techniques and skills to face stress and strain and the daily pressure of a modern existence. Vedic scholar and social reformer Brigadier (retd) Chitranjan Sawant and psychologist and Director of Cosmos Institute of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences (CIMBS) Dr Sunila Mittal addressed the Satsang (religious discourse). During the Satsang programme, the Sadguru’s message on how to overcome grief caused by the loss of a dear one, was relayed through video. Yoga, Pranayam and meditation techniques were taught in the Satsang programme.      Colonel D K Salwan, Chairman, Gurjinder Vihar (Greater Noida) Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) appealed to Nav Sanjivan to organize programmes and activities free of cost for the families of war heroes and martyrs. Nav Sanjivan readily agreed to this request.   The programme was organized with the assistance of Gurjinder Vihar RWA, Bodhi Taru International School, CIMBS (New Delhi) and Sanjeevani (Ghaziabad). The programme, organized on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, concluded last night with rendition of devotional songs and prayers.
