Shiv Nadar School Boys win District Basketball Championship

The Championship was an initiative by the District Basketball Association, Gautam Budh Nagar

 Noida, India, May 30, 2017: Shiv Nadar School won the Gautam Budh Nagar District Basketball Championship for Boys in the U/16 category. Of the eight teams that participated, Shiv Nadar School, Noida won the championship by 28 points with St. Joseph School winning the first runner-up award and Genesis Global School winning the second runner-up trophy.  The championship which began on 25^th May, 2017 was played on league format, with two pools of four teams each. The semi-finals were played among the teams from Shiv Nadar School, Amity International School, Genesis Global School and St. Joseph School.

The final match of the tournament was played between Shiv Nadar School and St. Joseph School, where the former emerged victorious with a score of 67- 39. Arnav Sahni (from the Shiv Nadar School) with 45 points in the finals was declared the Most Valuable Player of the match and Nikhil Sundaresan (from Shiv Nadar School) with 15 rebounds per game was declared the best defensive player.
