Fortuner behind Ankit’s misfortune? STF cracks case, meritorious engineer revealed as murderer
(02/06/2017) Greater Noida: STF has finally cracked the gruesome murder case of Noida techie shot dead two years back. Ankit Chauhan was shot dead by two men on 13 April, 2015.
A private employee in a software firm, Ankit was returning after meeting his wife Ameesha when two assailants overtook his SUV and fired at the windscreen. Ankit was then taken to Kailash Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Ankit has gotten married just a month before his murder.
Allahabad High Court later transferred the case to CBI during 2016. A reward of five lakh rupees was also announced to catch the culprits. After long wait of more than two years joint team of CBI and STF have cracked the case.
The meritorious murderer:
DCE student and Shashank Jadaun and Manoj Kumar are arrested in the gruesome murder as STF claims to have solved the case. Shashank has been a meritorious student and have scored 96% marks in 12th standard examination.
STF IG Amitabh Yash today revealed important details of the murder and the events that lead to it.
Amitabh Yash said,”DCE graduate Shashank Jadaun was a meritorious student and he graduated in the year 2014. Thereafter he started a real-estate business which incurred heavy loss. Shashank had a friend named Pankaj who had criminal background. Pankaj planned and proposed heist of a Fortuner car to get money that Shashank had borrowed from Pankaj. Ankit was murdered during the same robbery”.
Chronology of Murder day:
As per details shared by STF, on the day of planned heist Shashank brought his own Honda accord car and picked up Manoj, who is a Truck driver and mechanic. Pankaj was already with him. As per plan they drove up-to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida and started looking for a Fortuner car while driving on the service road towards Noida. They spotted many vehicles but couldn’t find a convenient opportunity.
Thereafter they spotted a new white Fortuner car and saw two men walking inside Accenture Company.
All three decided to loot the car. Thereafter Shashank came out of his vehicle and stood alongside a tea stall while Pankaj started driving car with Manoj inside it to avoid any suspicion.
When Ankit and his friend came out and started driving their car, Shashank, Pankaj and Manoj started following the vehicle.
After tailing the vehicle for long, Pankaj overtook Ankit’s vehicle and Shashank immediately jumped out blazing gun towards Ankit.
On seeing the gun Ankit tried to move back his car upon which Shashank open fired. Thereafter Shashank opened the door of driving side and tried to pull Ankit out of vehicle. As Ankit had his seatbelts on, Shashank failed to do so and on insistence of his companions Pankaj and Manoj, he fled immediately in Honda accord vehicle.
While Shashank and Manoj have been captured, another accused Pankaj has died five months back due to multiple organ failure in Sarvodaya hospital. Both convicts Shashank Jadaun and Manoj are also residents of Ghaziabad.
