423 Convicted criminals to be checked by District Police under ‘Operation Clean’

423 previously convicted criminals of Gautam Budh Nagar district will be listed under the drive ‘Operation Clean’ Launched by district police In order to keep a check over criminal activities.
The drive, ‘Operation Clean’, will start from upcoming Sunday and will continue for another 10 days. The drive is taking place to alert the former criminals so that they don’t easily get involved in any other crime. The police will visit the residences of those people to find out about their whereabouts and their current sources of income.

jkOn Sunday police had visited the residence of 54 previously convicted criminal but only 21 are found at their home. Police had suspension on these missing criminals that they might again got involved in the crime after coming out from Jail on Bail.
“We have collected the data of all the people who have been released from the jail. We will be visiting their houses to find out their current location. We will also find out their sources of income because that will help us in identifying if they are again getting involved in any criminal activity. This drive will also send the message that we are keeping an eye on their activities,” said Suniti, Superintendent of police, rural.

The police will also be taking the feedback of neighbours on such persons. Every police station will be responsible for the released criminal living in their jurisdiction, said police. There are many people who committed the crime in Greater Noida but live in other states. The district magistrate has asked the Gautam Budh Nagar police department to identify all the parking, land, sand and illegal alcohol mafias.

The police chief has been asked to prepare a proper strategy against the active mafias in the district. In a recent meeting, the DM had told all the police officers that no illegal mafias should be active in the jurisdiction of their respective police stations.
