I.T.S Dental College organizes Annual Sports Festival 2018!

(21/04/2018) I.T.S Dental College ,Greater Noida organized the much awaited annual sports festival 2018 from 18th to 20th April 2018. The event was marked with an array of sports events such as Cricket, Badminton, Football, Kho- Kho, Basket Ball, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis & Tug of War over a period of three days.
The first day of the event started with a brief inaugural ceremony on 18.04.2018 in Vivekanand auditorium. Dr Akshay Bhargava, Director -Principal declared the event open. Also present on the occasion were Dr Sachit Anand Arora, Dean – UG Program, all dental and medical HOD;s, faculty and students of all the batches.
Dr Akshay Bhargava in his innaugral address insisted that mass participation in such sports events is needed to make this event a grand success. He told this event is held every year to provide a more homely atmosphere to the students of I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida. He said that these events provide a vibrant atmosphere and decrease the stress level in the life of students and also give them chance to build a team spirit.
During the innaugral function the Academic Awards of excellence were also given to the BDS students of all batches for their best performance in the CCS university result of 2018. Top three rank holders of all BDS batch were conferred with certificate and cash prize of Rs 10,000 , 7500 and 5000 each for their academic performance in the University Examination .
The three day sports fest was attended by more than 450 students from all the BDS Batches of I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida who participated in more than 10 various sports events. It was held across the entire campus of ITS Dental College, Greater Noida across various grounds of our splendid campus. Most of the events were held under the watchful eyes of Professional umpires/referees.
The event started with the indoor & outdoor sports events. Indoor and Outdoor events included Cricket, Football, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Shot Put, 4×100 M Relay, 100 M, Badminton, Tug Of War, Kho-Kho, Push Ups, Chess, Table Tennis, Carrom. Basket ball. Teams from all the batches gave tough competition to each other. The main attraction of the fest was Cricket match between Interns(2013 Batch) and Third Year (2015) students in which the 2015 batch gave tough time to their seniors. The exhilarating match ended with splendid performance by interns of the college to clinch the title. Kho Kho match between the girls of 2013 and 2014 batch displayed tough competition. The students from various batches participated with great enthusiasm and sportsman’s spirit.
The final day of the event saw the finale matches in the events such as Football, Volley Ball, Basket ball, Tug of War. The overall winner of the event was Interns 2013 batch which played with true sportsman’s spirit and enthusiasm and triumphed the trophy.
Such sports/cultural programs are done on a regular basis for the holistic development of the personality of the students where we inculcate team spirit, creativity and leadership qualities. It also relieves students from their hectic academic schedule and acts as a stress buster. While the race for the overall championships was still raging between all 5 teams, some of the athletes have already drawn first blood, and tasted the sweetness of being into finals. With a strong showing on all the three Days the festival ended with a marvelous fun and frolic feeling in all the students and participants.
The event ended with a blast, joy and happiness which could be seen in every student’s face and with lots of bon homice between the HOD’s, faculty members and students.
